Dieter Schnepel (DOW) new Euro Chlor Chairman

Dieter SchnepelDieter Schnepel is Managing Director of the Dow Deutschland Anlagengesellschaft mbH and Vice-President Site Operations Stade.

Dieter Schnepel started his career in Dow in different manufacturing positions in the Chlor-Alkali-Operation in Stade, Germany between 1991 and 1999. In 2000 Dieter managed a project in Chloorkop/ Republic of South Africa. Afterwards he became the global Environmental Health & Safety Leader for the Chlor-Alkali business. In 2003, Dieter became Production Leader of the Chlor-Alkali-Plant Stade, before he moved to Texas City in the United States in 2005 as a Production Leader for the Solvents & Intermediates business.

In 2007 Dieter became Senior Production Leader for the Chlor-Vinyl- Plants in Dow Central Germany, Schkopau, before he became Cracker Production Leader and Site Manager for Dow in Boehlen in 2008. In 2010 Dieter was appointed as Site Manager for Dow Terneuzen in the Netherlands. Since April 2013 Dieter holds the position as Vice-President for Site Operation Stade, Germany. In September 2015 Dieter added responsibility as global Chlor-Alkali-Vinyl Manufacturing & Technology Director.

Dieter is Vice-Chairman of the “VCI Nord e. V.” (Northern German Chemical Industry Association) and is president of Chemcoast e.V., an initiative to reinforce the economic development of the Northern-German chemical sites of Brunsbüttel, Seelze, Stade, Walsrode und Wilhelmshaven.

Dieter Schnepel holds a bachelor as chemical engineer from the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg.
