DECEMBER 2022 CHLORINE PRODUCTION

In December, the European chlorine production reached 513,758 tonnes. With 16,573 tonnes, the December 2022 average daily production was 9.6% lower than in the previous month (November 2022: 18,336 tonnes), and 37.9% lower than in December 2021 (26,703 tonnes).

With 257,368 tonnes, the December 2022 caustic soda stocks were 12.1% higher than in the previous month (November 2022: 229,497 tonnes) and 61,136 tonnes above the level of December 2021 (196,232 tonnes).

The following tables give the details of chlorine production and caustic soda stocks in the EU-27 countries plus Norway, Switzerland, and the UK in December 2022.
