Three new technical guidelines produced and 13 updated over past year

Over the past year, Euro Chlor’s General Technical Committee (GTC), in cooperation with its sub-Working Groups for Safety & Transport (GEST) and Equipment, have updated 13 technical recommendations and published three new documents as follows:

Three new guidelines

  • GEST 17/492 – Specifications and approval procedure for valves to be used in liquid chlorine or dry chlorine gas
  • GEST 17/490 – Safety on hydrogen in Chlorine
  • GEST 18/494 – Safe loading and unloading of Chlor-Alkali related chemicals

  • 10/361 - Dry Chlorine Gas Compressors
  • 12/406 - Best Practices in the Production and Handling of Caustic
  • 73/17   - Storage of Liquid Chlorine
  • 75/43   - Flexible Steel Pipes and Flexible Monel and Hastelloy Hoses for the Transfer of Dry Gaseous or Liquid Chlorine
  • 75/47   - Design and Operation of Chlorine Vaporisers
  • 76/52   - Equipment for the Treatment of Gaseous Effluents Containing Chlorine
  • 76/55   - Maximum Levels of Nitrogen Trichloride in Liquid Chlorine
  • 87/133 - Overpressure Relief of Liquid Chlorine Installations
  • 92/171 - Personal Protective Equipment in the Chlorine Industry
  • 94/206 - Safe Use of Chlorine from Drums and Cylinders
  • 94/216 - Gaskets selection for the use in Liquid Chlorine and Dry or Wet Chlorine Gas Service"
  • 96/218 - Safe Use of Sodium Hypochlorite at Swimming Pools
