Ercros starts up newest chlor-alkali plant

Euro Chlor member company Ercros has begun production of chlorine and caustic soda at their factory in Vila-seca I (Tarragona), as part of an investment programme which began in 2017.

This second expansion to a capacity of 26,000 tonnes/ year accompanies a third expansion, currently undeway, which is expected to be operational by the middle of 2019.

These works are part of efforts to bring Ercros’ chlorine and caustic soda production to the level the company had before the cessation of mercury technology on 11 December 2017.
