KEM ONE: electrolysis conversion project has started
KEM ONE has embarked upon the technological conversion of the chlor-alkali production units at its Lavéra site (France). This major construction project, on which work began more than a year ago, will represent an investment of around 150 million euro.
The first equipment is being delivered to the site and a peak in activity on the construction site is expected by mid-2016. The new unit is due to be launched by the end of 2016. It forms part of a modernisation plan in which the company will invest a total of 250 million euro between 2014 and 2016 to improve its industrial performance.
This goal has already been illustrated at the Lavéra site where in May 2015 changes were made to those production processes relating to vinyl chloride monomer units.
